My name is Shanti, and I’m a sober companion and sober coach. After thirty-five years living in New York City, I am now based in the New Jersey Pine Barrens since the COVID-19 crisis. A former acting coach and later a relationship coach, I’ve been working in the recovery field since 2016 and loving it! Supporting others has always been my main passion in life. I love seeing clients go from despair to hopeful promise, to leading a life they love.
Sober from sex/love addictions since 2012, I joined AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) in 2016 as I discovered that alcohol and drugs played a significant role in my acting-out behaviors. I more recently began working the program of DA (Debtors Anonymous) in 2021. I’ve supported a full array of clients from those with SUD (substance use disorders) to those with process addictions to others with co-occurring mental health issues.
I’ve also been the sober companion to a handful of celebrities, as I was once a supermodel and an up-and-coming actress. I understand well the social pressures and privacy needs that they face.
A grateful mother of a 30-year-old daughter, she is proud of my sober journey. I love to dance, swim, bike, hike, and am open to exercise of all types. I maintain a yoga and meditation practice every morning and have inspired some of my clients to do the same. I also love animals, although my travels make caring for my own impossible. Therefore, if you have pets, yay!
A cheerful disposition and a great sense of humor, and I also know how to turn down the pizzazz when those around me are struggling. I have been gifted with a strong intuitive sense of when to be compassionate and empathetic with clients, and when to hold the line. These qualities make me an excellent sober companion, and many of my clients keep me updated on their progress long after our time together has ended. I feel blessed to offer this valuable service.
